This is an excerpt from a film I was commissioned to make by Newhampton Arts Centre, about The Good Shepherd in Wolverhampton, funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation in 2022.
’freedom is imagination’ (2022) was selected for the west midlands open exhibition at The New Art Gallery Walsall.
this piece is simply about how the natural world, film making and photography were a great source of comfort and healing for me during a long period of illness and then throughout my recovery.
for International Woman’s Day each year i produce visuals / films for the all-female DJ event ‘Ladyland - All Girls Sounds’ at Newhampton Arts Centre, Wolverhampton.
in 2021 I was digital artist-in-residence at the The New Art Gallery Walsall in partnership with Outside In. I made 6 films in response to 6 art works in the Collections, within the wider context of landscape.
in december 2020 I received my first film commission. I was selected by Severn Arts, Worcester, to create a digital artwork for their annual ‘it gets lighter from here’ festival which celebrates the winter solstice, funded by Arts Council England and Culture Central.
